The Phase Equilibria Datum Dialog is used to add or edit an individual datum listed in the Phase Equlibria Data Dialog. The dialog is activated by clicking the left mouse button on a row in the data table control or selecting a row and pressing the Edit button.
The Phase Equilibrium Datum Dialog enables you to enter values for the tie line compositions, temperature, pressure, and supporting information.
1
Property Control: displays the current property being estimated. |
2
Tie Line Control: enables you to enter any short text string for the datum's tie line. Typically, tie lines are entered as TL001, TL002, TL003, etc. |
3
Previous Button: inserts the tie line, if present, from the datum on the previous table row. Inserting and modifying the previous tie line is a good method for ensuring consistency of formatting. |
4
Units Controls: enables you to specify the composition units of the current datum. |
5
Component Controls: displays each of the components of the current mixture. |
6
Composition Controls: enables you to enter compositions for each component. |
7
Composition Accuracy Controls: enables you to enter the accuracy of each entered composition. |
8
Molality/Molarity Solvent Control: enables you to select which component will be used to convert molality/molarity values into common units. See the molal units and molar units documentation for details. |
9
Molarity Density Control: enables you to enter the solution density which will be used to convert molality/molarity values into common units. See the molal units and molar units documentation for details. |
10
Molarity Density Units Control: enables you to enter the units in which the solution density is given. |
11
Temperature Control: enables you to enter the datum's temperature. |
11
Temperature Accuracy Control: enables you to enter the accuracy of the entered temperature value. |
13
Units Control: enables you specify the units in which the temperature was entered. |
14
Pressure Control: enables you to enter the datum's pressure. |
15
Pressure Accuracy Control: enables you to enter the accuracy of the entered pressure value. |
16
Units Control: enables you specify the units in which the pressure was entered. |
17
Reference Control: the Reference control enables you to enter the identifier of the reference from which you obtained the property's datum value. You can type in a value or use the dropdown list to select a recently entered value. Entering a reference is optional but highly recommended. |
18
List Button: pressing the List button displays the Reference Selection dialog. This dialog enables you to select the identifier of any reference in the current document. (See the All Entities dialog documentation for more details on selecting references.) |
19
Comments Control: the Comments control enables you to enter general information to better describe the entered value. Very often comments document the date of entry, the name of the person who entered the value, or assumptions about the entered value. |
20
Date, Phrase, Set Buttons: these buttons provide standard operations to help you enter comments. Pressing the Date button inserts the current date and time into the comment control. Pressing the Phrase button inserts the stored 'common phrase' into the comment control. Pressing the Set button enables you to change the 'common phrase'. (See documentation on the Set Phrase dialog for details. |
21
X Default Button: activates the Default Compositions Dialog which enables to select a default composition which will be entered into the composition controls. See below for documentation. |
22
X Total Button: activates the Residual Composition Dialog which displays the current composition total and enables to assign the residual composition to an unassigned composition control. See below for documentation. |
23
Show Ref Button: pressing the Show Ref button will display the document associated with cited reference. The location of this document is stored in the reference's Document Location Section. |
A mixture's Default Composition Section may contain one or more compositions that can be accessed by various dialogs used by Cranium and Synapse. The Phase Equilibrium Datum Dialog is one such dialog.
Pressing the dialog's X Default button activates the default composition dialog.
Selecting a row in the Default Composition table control and pressing the OK button will insert the selected compositions into the Phase Equilibria Datum dialog's composition controls.
Pressing the dialog's X Total button activates the Residual Composition Dialog. This dialog can be used to view the current compsition total and insert a residual composition value into an unassigned composition control.
1
Composition Total Control: displays the total of all entered compositions. |
2
Units Control: displays the Phase Equilibria Estimate Dialog's currently selected composition units. Note that these units may be different from the current units being used in the application. |
3
Residual Component Control: if there is only one component with an unassigned composition, this control displays that component's name. |
4
Residual Concentration Control: if there is only one component with an unassigned composition, this control displays that component's composition that would bring the composition total to a value of 1 or 100, depending upon the current units. |
5
Set Residue Button: if there is only one component with an unassigned composition and if there is a valid residual composition, pressing this button assigns the residual composition to the unassigned composition control. |
