In most chapters, the top-most field is the identifier field.
The Identifier field uses the Identifier dialog to display and edit the identifer of the current entity. Typically the identifier is the common name of the entity but it can be any unique value. (It is very important that the identifier is unique for a specifc entity type, e.g., there should be only one chemical named acetone.)
Clicking the right mouse button within a text edit control (the value, reference and comments control in this dialog) displays the edit control menu.

The Groups' chapter Identifier dialog can automatically generate the name of a group given its molecular structure. For example, for the group:
pressing the Identifier dialog's Default button would generate the following name.
